Euphemisms for Stupid…
The other day, I contemplated several ways of expressing a certain someone’s total lack of intelligence. I started out with the usual suspects:
- She’s a few fries short of a Happy Meal
- She’s a few beers short of six-pack
- Body by Fisher, brains by Mattel
I had some fun with those, but it just didn’t satisfy me — so I decided to try my hand on a few of my invention:
- One wheel short of a unicycle
- Missing a few links in the chain
- A few pages shy of a short story
- A few coals short of a barbecue
- Missing a few keys from the keyboard
- She’s a surviving finalist in the Darwin Awards
- 500 sheets short of a ream
- She’s missing a few clubs from her golf bag
- Not enough film in the camera
- Twelve shy of a dozen
- Missing the hamburger from the Hamburger Helper
