No Free Soda Refills for You!

United States:
What is it with some restaurants’ “no refills on soda” policy? These people obviously don’t have the consumer in mind. I mean, I’m not going to walk into some place and say, “Oh, you don’t give out refills. That’s OK, I’ll buy TWO drinks!” No one’s going to buy multiple drinks, so they’d make more money by charging a reduced price for refills. A $1.25 soda yields a profit of about $1.15. Even $0.50 per refill would net the retailer an additional $0.47 on top of the original $1.15 profit since they wouldn’t need to sell you a new cup. Or, better yet, instead of trying to make more money, try starting with creating some goodwill and not charging for refills at all. Refills reduce waste, and make satisfied repeat customers.

The Rest of the World:
Girl Drinking Coca ColaGet over it and drink water. No wonder you Americans are so fat, since you eat high-calorie, high-fat foods, and ignore the need for exercise. Anyway, the high concentration of sugar is bad for your health, your teeth, and your waistline.

United States:
Hey, What gives?! Why are you attacking us? Don’t forget who actually won the war (just pick any war)! And you have the balls to mention bad teeth? We believe in freedom — freedom of speech, freedom of government, and freedom to have free refills!

The Rest of the World:
Look where freedom’s taken you! You have corrupt politicians, poor public education, huge national and personal financial debt, smog, high crime rates, and the NRA.

United States:
Yeah? Point of story is? That’s what freedom’s all about, baby! Freedom to make wrong choices, too! Just give me my dámn refill!
