Spam, Wonderful Spam!

It’s 5:05 a.m. and I just woke up. For some stupid reason I’ve stumbled sleepily into my office to check my email, and in the last eight hours I’ve received 13 spam emails, all trying to sell an interesting variety of products:

Contact lenses, low-interest credit cards, get-rich-quick-doing-business-on-the-Internet schemes (2 emails), pørn, discount domain names, stock and financial security scams, low mortgage interest rates (2 emails), weight-loss products, scholarship grants, cheap legal services, and one final spam in which it was impossible to tell what it was they were actually trying to sell.

What I found mildly interesting and slightly coincidental was that the spam I received overnight was almost the exact same programming lineup you would find if you stayed up all night watching late-night infomercials.

I think the only one I was missing was a spam email selling hair-removal products…

No, no, no. It isn’t hair-removal products. It’s hair-loss-prevention products.

My mailbox (The one that gets tons of spam. Not the one that, for some completely inconceivable reason since it’s the one I use everytime some random website wants an email address, never gets any spam) gets filled with more messages for hair-loss-prevention products than for pørn. I’m surprised you don’t see more of these (but then, comparing our manes, I may have my answer…)
