The Amazing Race…
Well, the Amazing Race cache is complete. Unfortunately, my plan to slowly release it, first to Sean, and then to the rest of the local geocaching population went awry when the cache approver removed the disable flag on the cache when he approved it. So, when I logged back in later, expecting to see an approved, yet still disabled cache, I was surprised to see 15 names on the audit list of who had seen my subscriber-only cache. For the rest of the day, I re-disabled it, but since so many others had seen it in such a short time, I re-enabled it later this evening, mainly because many of the same people who’d seen my Amazing Race cache had also recently been burned by my Chameleon Row cache which seems to have disappeared almost immediately! I certainly don’t want to foster a bad reputation, do I?!
I stopped by Sean’s this morning, their first morning back from NY, first to give them back their keys, second to give Sean the AR cache printout, and third to just say “Hi”. I was surprised and touched that Tina said that it gave her the warm and fuzzies that they had someone that they could count on at any time for whatever reason, whether it be to rescue them from a psychotic cab driver, guard their house from a crazy neighbor, or to just generally be there for them whenever they needed. OK, not her exact words, but you get the point…
I’m working on it! No logs yet, so maybe I still have a chance to win this thing. Now, there *is* a million dollars in the final cache, right?
