Response From Amazon…
Writing letters works!
Thank you for writing to Amazon.com.
First, please let me apologize for this mix-up during packing, and for the fact that the camera you received did not appear to be in new condition. It is certainly not our intention to ship used products to our customers, and we will investigate the origin of this problem.
We are happy you have expressed an interest in keeping the item you recently received, and apologize for any disappointment you have experienced with this order.
Based on the condition in which the camera arrived, we are offering to refund 15% of the purchase price of this item, or $78.60. If this offer is acceptable, please reply to this message and we will request the refund to your credit card as soon as we hear back from you.
If you would prefer to return the damaged item for a refund or replacement, you may print a return shipping label by following the instructions in our Online Returns Center.
Again, I offer my apologies for any inconvenience or frustration this situation may have caused; I hope this solution is satisfactory.
Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com.
Best regards,
Kami D.

I was very pleased with Amazon’s quick response, and took them up on the 15% refund offer…
Hello, I need to return an item that I ordered; when it came, it was not what I wanted and I need to return it ASAP. I would appreciate your help with the return. Thanks, F. Hensley
And just what, exactly, would you expect Richard to do, Fran? Write your letter for you?
Ooh, a new business! Send me money and I’ll write your complaint letters for you.
Dear Amazon: I received something yesterday that I ordered from your website. While I’m sure whatever it was was nice and did whatever it was it was supposed to do, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. Instead, I got this other thing that did or was something other than I expected. I’d like to send whatever it was back for a full refund ASAP since I have no idea what it is and it doesn’t meet my expectation for whatever it is that I originally wanted. My name is Fran and I think I’m from Texas, although I might really be anywhere in the southern states. I’ll take a check. Thank you!
Imagine the blogs! Seriously, folks, just go to amazon.com, click Help, then Returns, and go from there. - RDL
From Texas? Oh, well, say no more. Using a broad brush, Sean
this order is a duplicate shipment I like to return it and get a full refund on my american express card. order ID 002-3072978-5758447. please advise
My advice would be to actually contact Amazon to return your duplicate order of Las Vegas Vintage Graphics, The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns, and/or Future Perfect — not me! Although, my birthday’s coming up, and you can just send the books to me! And, hey, if it’s a duplicate shipment and you only ordered and paid for one set, you wouldn’t be out a penny if you sent them here, right?!

Uh, gee, mary. Maybe you could go to AMAZON’S site and, oh, maybe look up their return policy? (Sheesh.)
