Packing for Trips…
Packing for trips is much more of a pain than it used to be.
Now-a-days, I’ve got to make sure the GPS has fresh batteries and a fresh set of 900 waypoints loaded up; a cigarette lighter adapter for using the GPS in the rental car; the same waypoints loaded up into the charged-up Palm Pilot, also with corresponding car charger and spare styluses (styli?); the Canon PowerShot G3 digital camera, fully charged, the requisite cig adapter, a full-up spare battery, and a newly formatted CompactFlash card; metal detector, also with a new 9-volt; pens; nine travel bugs; seven pre-made caches; a flashlight; electronic bug repellent; screwdrivers; a compass; a whistle; and a partridge in a pear tree…
Oh yeah, and clothes…
All this for a probable zero hours of caching — the entire week is forecast for rain and wind, with highs of a balmy 49 degrees. Being prepared and not being able to cache is far better than having time to cache and not having any of the requisite accoutrements.
