You’re Fired…
In an effort to scramble together some of the addresses of defunct companies where I once worked, I came across an HR website that espoused the following offenses, among others more reasonable sounding:
The following behaviour patterns may be indicative of a dishonest employee: (1) vocally proposes taking unauthorised short cuts to improve workflow; (2) unauthorised use of personal containers; (3) is reluctant to take time off; (4) consistently comes to work on days off, comes early, stays late; (5) meets employees in scheduled areas of workplace.
Oh, yes, fire these people immediately. On second thought, fire the HR people. They’re morons. Is this kind of idiotic brainwashing what they’re teaching in schools these days?!
Do you think they mean “secluded” areas of workplace? In any event, based on the criteria given I’m pleased to say that I am surrounded by clearly honest employees.
Wow i just figured out i must be viewed as a dishonest employee because i kid around about doing things half assed allthough i try and always do things as throughlly as i can. i am reluctant to take time off - now i am not sure how this is viewed as bad and even worse i would consistently stay late but that was because i loved my job i find it funny how what i would view as a good employee is the oppostie of what these people think. the more i hate my job the more i would not want to be there one more minute than i have to. if i like it i will work there as much time as i can unless i actually have a life at the time.
Actually, those are things that could indicate a dishonest employee. If you’re embezzling from teh company, for example, your scheme might require some circumventing of an established process. It might be discovered if anyone else ever does some aspect of your job. So you may be reluctant to take a day off and tend to come in early/stay late. But these are also characteristics of dedicated, honest employees. So I suppose it really depends on how the HR department is presenting this info. As “These are signs of dishonest employees” or “These MAY be indications…” As with anything, thought and alanysis is required rather than just blindly following some set of rules.
