Vacation 2004: Day Eight…
Cortney puked just before beginning a tour of Montpelier, cutting short the remainder of the afternoon’s plans to visit Monticello and Mitchie Tavern. Madison’s home was undergoing a $30-million renovation, reducing the 66,000-square-foot mansion of the Duponts back down to Dolley and James’ original 16,000 square feet, so the best we saw was unplastered lathe and the promise of original stairways and doors. The garden was in good shape.
Until the puking, of course.
Tonight’s movie was Cheaper by the Dozen.
