HP and the Half-Blood Prince…
Book number six of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series, titled Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince begins:
He looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp.
The text was hidden within the official website, revealed after cracking a secret code. Unfortunately, the website has been updated and the book title and text are no longer available.
For some other fun, however, do the following:
Entering in code 62442 into the cell phone reveals an early version of a page from the Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone). After clicking on the mug to go the Extra Stuff area, pick up the eraser and “erase” the blank sheet of paper. That reveals the four objects to find. One of those objects, the leaves, is on the same page. The spider is on the main desk page. The flask is in the Links section. Also there, dragging the book marked with the ‘?’ to the left reveals a key which, when dragged to the locked box, releases an orb that you click to reveal Sorting Hat doodlings. On the Fan Sites page, moving the medals into their boxes gets you an old drawing depicting the Midnight Duel chapter of Philosopher’s Stone. The feather is there, too. Collecting all four objects gets you a snapshot of a page of the first typed manuscript.
Have fun!
UPDATE: Interestingly, the book must have been re-edited before final release because the text above appeared on page 16, not on the first page as originally reported.
