Firefox Ad Blaster…

Using Firefox yet? I hope so!

Installing a new style sheet that I’ve created will completely block most common ad forms, including the Google ads on this website. Just copy userContent.css and install it in the chrome folder in your Firefox profile folder. [Those too few people who support RR... by clicking the Google ads may *not* use this style sheet! Just kidding!]

If you notice, at the very bottom, it specifies that images served by Akamai and a few specific images from Yahoo should normally be 10% opaque (or 90% transparent) and will show up normally when hovered over. This is for those cases where Akamai or Yahoo might be serving up something other than an ad, and it allows you the option of viewing the image as intended.

As an added bonus, I’ve included userChrome.css which you also can throw into the same chrome folder mentioned above. This style sheet changes the appearance of tabs within Firefox to make them stand out more, plus it increases the width of the Google search bar. Cool!

By the way, you must restart Firefox before the changes detailed above will take effect…

    sean: uh oh :(
RDL: that’s why I created the link to “profile folder” on firefox’s website
sean: “Just copy the contents below into a file called userContent.css and install it in the chrome folder in your Firefox PROFILE FOLDER
    sean: D’oh!
RDL: the link shows you exactly where your profile folder is…
sean: yeah yeah yeah. OK. So I don’t know how to use these computer thingies.
RDL: I expect an updated comment ;-)

ramble on, why do you think america has a copyright on idiots? Canada is chock full of nuts, i know trust me, as a resource it could hardly be depleted, perhaps even renewable! especially available an oversupply of sycophantic eco friendly nuts.
