Stephanie Threatens to Sue, Again…

Last month, I received correspondence from Martin S. Siegel, an attorney from Brown Rudnick who represents Stephanie Adams, in which he claims that I have made statements that are “false, libelous and dematory and violate various statutory provisions and common law rights.” The letter also states that “Ms. Adams has advised us that she did not send” the emails I quoted.

I do not have the time or energy to deal with even such a frivolous lawsuit right now, so I have temporarily disabled access to the original blog entries. I apologize to those who visit and are not able to view the entire story that started with the comment that blue on black websites are hard to read.

In the meantime, you can read a related story by James Poling (as reported by fark.com) in which his comments about Ms. Adams’ “hard to read” MySpace page resulted in his being sued for $100,000. Or you can read the FOXNews article that states Stephanie is suing New York City for $5,000,000 “over injuries allegedly sustained in rough arrest”. Or you can read the discussion on Wikipedia about recent edits that have happened on the Stephanie Adams wiki page.

Man, that sucks. I understand the logic and support it, but it really tempts me to finally get a site of my own to keep the saga available just to see how she would react (as if how the deranged she-hound behaves is in any doubt). Some days the feeling is really, “Alright, that’s enough. Bring it on over here, bìtçh.”

    Wow.

The “bìtçh” (opinion) is back. You should contact James Poling and work together on a countersuit. There are many many many 1st ammendment lawyers out there who will work on a case like this. If you countersue there would be many more willing to put time in.

This woman is “sick” (opinion) and seriously should seek “counseling” of some sort (opinion).

It is a shame you took down your story because it is humourous and informative and protected speech. Her case will be thrown out in summary judgement. However, you do have grounds for a harrassment case given the fact that she has emailed you numerous threats. Threatening frivolous lawsuits alone may be considered harrassment so IMO you do have a case.

    Free Speech.

The key to my statement above is “temporarily disabled”. In no way do I intend for my First Amendment rights to continue to be trampled. I will be re-enabling the posts soon; it is merely a matter of when. There are several factors to consider — including receipt of confirmation of Neal Johnston’s (of Johnston & Johnston LLP, the same attorney defending James Poling aka blognyc.net) agreement to represent my case pro bono. The other major consideration is whether or not I want my blog attacked by Stephanie again. While she was unfortunately reminded of this website (thanks to her tirade on Wikipedia), she has refrained from posting comments here for about two years. While the old blog software was very good at tracking IP addresses and helping me block her comments, the new software (absolutely terrific in other ways) doesn’t provide the same tracking capabilities. The last thing I need is for her to start leaving 100’s of comments again, effectively shutting the website down, and not be able to track or block the comments.

I really think with the so obviously frivolous and perjured complaint filed by Stephanie Adams against blognyc.com she is going to get slapped, hopefully very hard, for the way she has behaved. Based on my own personal correspondence with her I can say she is irrational, bigotted, abusive and a liar. And I believe she deserves to be held publicly and financially responsible for the damage she has caused to you and to James Poling.

Looking forward to the end of your self-imposed “temporary” period. Particularly given the references over in the blognyc.com discussions to “another website” which “caved”.
