Our 2006 Recap…

As usual, at the end of one year, I like to do a quick recap of some of the things that happened during the prior year — just to kind of sum up the year in a few sentences or paragraphs.

Looking back, Sterling learned to play chess, and he went fishing for the first time this past year. I switched back to Canon after several failed years with Nikon, and finally made the leap from Saturn to Jeep. Experienced the fun (and small painful bruises) of paintball. Switched a couple blogs from Movable Type over to WordPress, had run-ins with Wells Fargo and Citibank, was threatened (once again) with a bogus lawsuit, and caught over 35,000 spam comments with the Akismet plugin. Thanks also to the blogs, I started doing restaurant reviews for a new guide book for the San Francisco Bay Area.

As far as travel and entertainment, there were trips to Las Vegas, multiple campouts in Rescue (California), and outings at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The whole family went to Massachusetts, and then Cortney visited Portugal for a couple weeks. Kim spent time with family in Illinois and Missouri, with a quick stop at Graceland. Found our way through a giant corn maze in Hollister, followed by my trip to the Dominican Republic.

A pretty full and satisfying year.
