Wells Fargo Not-So-Fee-Free Accounts…

Imagine my surprise when today I opened my statement for my business savings account XXXXXXX (an activity I do only a few times a year as there should be no activity in the account whatsoever) only to find that the balance is negative $19.83. Yup, that’s right — $19.83 less than $0.

In a nutshell, you guys are continuing to screw up and you owe me a hundred bucks.

The problem is that you are charging me $10 each and every month for an account that was only opened in the first place because your bank branch representatives informed me that by opening the account, I would avoid ALL bank charges in ALL my business accounts. All I had to do was throw in a Benjamin.

This was obviously a lie.

Last year, I discovered the mysterious $10/month charge and wrote a comprehensive, step-by-step letter (a copy of which is attached) in an endeavor towards solving the problem. It seemed to work - a Wells Fargo representative contacted me on the phone, and she personally (supposedly) fixed the accounts and refunded the amounts previously erroneously charged.

All seemed great.

And yet…

…I’m still being charged the $10 monthly fee.

Here’s what you now need to do: close savings account XXXXXXX and refund the original $100 transfer back to business checking account XXXXXXX. And, while you’re at it, I STILL don’t need you to keep charging me a check return fee in that account, either!

Thank you!

Not sure about Human Resources specifically. If you have a problem with a person at your local branch I’d think the next step would be to talk to the branch manager.

For Customer Service (which might be able to connect you to or give you a number for Wells Fargo’s HR department) Wells Fargo’s web site has a link to “All Phone Numbers” for personal accounts which takes you to https://www.wellsfargo.com/help/phone_dir. For business accounts their list of numbers can be found here: https://www.wellsfargo.com/biz/help/phone_dir. Information on contacting Wells Fargo from outside the US is here: https://www.wellsfargo.com/per/int_access_codes. For Canada it lists the number 1-800-888-8000.
