First Quarter 2008 Server Logs

Understandably, some of the most popular search terms submitted by web surfers that ended up at Richard’s Ramblings included “anna nicole smith”, “lady godiva”, “jessica simpson”, “dominican republic prostitution“, “stephanie adams“, “melissa midwest”, “camel toe”, “boca chica girls”, and “nice breasts”. Always nice to know that the sex-laden origins of the Internet are still the primary motivational drivers.

  • rubbing up against girls on airplanes” — Looking for tips on techniques?
  • what is the name of the atoll in the pacific ocean and site of a second world war battle where us marines seized the land from the japanese” — Definitely one of my favorites, due simply to the specificity and detail of the query.
  • i’m not wearing any panties” — Lovely! Please contact me. And please be female.
  • how to make something happen slowly with javascript” - Use Internet Explorer.
  • big huge bøøbš” — As opposed to small huge bøøbš?
  • finding boys for sex in santo domingo” — A slow tortuous death is not good enough for you.
  • a ferret pitcher” — Are you looking for a baseball-playing ferret, or a drink container shaped like a ferret?

Anna Nicole Smith has consistently been the #1 search term on Richard’s Ramblings every month for the past few years, thanks mainly to the racy title of the page containing my brief mention of the Anna Nicole Smith Show. For example, in October 2007, 1,736 visitors found the site by searching for “anna nicole smith” (not counting variations). November saw 1,502 visitors, December racked up 1,453, and the first month of 2008 saw 1,066. The rate dropped to only 459 in February, and she was finally beaten out by “monavie” last month. Anna’s not even showing up in the top ten search terms this month, eclipsed by “wordpress”, “monavie”, and “jessica simpson”. It seems lately that interest in Anna Nicole is as dead as she is.

On a side note, it is kind of sad that in March there were at least 104 variations of search terms in over 850 searches that were looking for information on prostitutes in the Dominican Republic — and those are just the people that actually made it to this website.

Expanding the scope of analysis to the more educational side of the Internet, I found a few more interesting searches:

  • The University of Akron had a few visitors looking for sex movie clips as well as nude pictures of attorney Caryn Peterson and notary Debra Cordea. Looks like someone’s trying to dig up some dirt on these gals.
  • The Colorado State University Department of Atmospheric Science fielded a few requests for both Teen Topanga and Latex Angel. The connection eludes me.
  • New Jersey’s Science and Technology University was Google’s frequent choice for searches for “bucket of KFC chicken” and “Indiana Jones”. A classic New Jersey dinner-and-a-movie date.
  • Sonoma State University visitors looked for “sex and the elderly”, “lethal dose of alcohol”, and “oral video clips”. A classic date in the California wine country.

Everything you do online is being watched by someone, somewhere.
